Good morning everyone, and welcome to NF Learning Lab, where together, we access our innate, iNtuitive wisdom as unique and self-valuing women, and share who we are becoming in a safe, sensitive community.
Last week, we let our imaginations take us into the reality of the cocoon state, where we found some wonderful surprises. We looked at the areas of our lives where each of us intuits there is more that wants to be expressed, where there is excitement over the possibility of reaching into the mystery and wonder of the butterfly part of us that is getting ready to leave the safety and quiet of the cocoon and launch ourselves into the world. This is a delightful, expectant state of being, but it also contains a great deal of creative tension, because we have, just ahead of us, the reality of a huge change process. In order to fly free, we must slough off the vestiges of the cocoon that has contained and protected us while we’ve allowed for, and nurtured, our inner transformation.
Hatching from the cocoon takes us from inner to outer transformation in Quadrant 4 of the You Are Here Map, where we prepare for our eventual reentry into the external world of ‘doing’ in the top half of the map. Today, we take a closer look at the realities connected with flexing the brand-new parts of ourselves. There is excitement here, yes, but there is also the hard work of letting go and of strengthening our new wings. It is said of the butterfly, that it is the very struggle involved in getting free from the cocoon, that builds enough wing-strength to fly free, and that if the butterfly does not take on that struggle alone, she invites the possibility of never having wings strong enough to soar on the wind.
Let’s review for a moment. There are four points on the You Are Here Map where we are asked to choose profound change. At the top of the map, when we move from Quadrant 1 to Quadrant 2, we have the choice to become conscious of and responsible for the emotions we feel when endings happen in our lives, so that we don’t have to live states of disappointment and failure. On the right horizon line of the map, where Quadrants 2 and 3 meet, we have the choice to stop distracting ourselves with incessant ‘doing’ and intentionally face the shadowy ‘dises’ that inevitably arise as we look deeply within ourselves. And here, at the bottom of the map in NF Learning Lab, where Quadrant 3 opens into Quadrant 4, we have the opportunity to choose whether or not we will open to our true greatness … our seminal wisdom … our fully expressed sense of purpose.
This transition is an opportunity to claim, once and for all, that our acute sensitivity, our intense complexity, and our wide-open possibility-thinking are our birthrights as iNtuitive-Feeling women, qualities that we can fully embrace and put to work for the betterment of our lives, and of our world.
Let’s move on to our breakout discussions and explore these ideas further.
